DDC Kupwara reviews pace & progress of developmental projects

KUPWARA, JULY 10: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Anshul Garg today convened a meeting of concerned engineers to review the pace and progress of various ongoing development projects in the district.

It was informed in the meeting that as many as 11 projects are nearing completion at an estimated cost of Rs. 66.3 crore.

The DDC reviewed project wise status of works and it was informed that the IPD block at Sub District Hospital, Kupwara and Academic Block, Women’s Degree College, Salkote is near to completion besides Upgradation of Darzipora-Salkote road and construction of Boys S.T. Hostel at Degree College Handwara are also at the final stage of execution.

It was further informed that the Video Wall in District Administrative Complex, is near to completion and other projects including Government Degree College Tangdar, 33KVA Receiving Station at Teetwal, KGB at Budrahar Rajwar, Night Shelter and Girls Hostel for Gujjar and Bakerwal students at Zangli Kupwara besides 100 bedded Girls Hostel at Zachaldara are also at the final stage of execution.

The DDC stressed upon the concerned executing agencies to speed up the construction works and ensure that all 11 projects are completed this month and handed over to the concerned departments for commissioning.

The DDC also took stock of the progress of 3 new developmental projects costing Rs.127.53 crore, the works of which are expected to start soon.

These 3 projects include construction of 12 MW Power Project at Karnah, construction of Indoor Sports Complex and Approach Bridge at Galizoo and construction of Parallel byepass road to Lolab valley.

The DDC said that by commissioning of these projects, Kupwara district will see the new era of development.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Nazir Ahmad Lone, Joint Director Planning, Abdul Majeed, DGM, JKPCC; DGM Housing Board; Executive Engineers R&B Division Kupwara and Handwara, representatives from Education, SAMAGRA, JKPDC and other concerned attended the meeting.
