DC Samba reviews arrangements for DDC elections

SAMBA NOVEMBER 20: District Panchayat Election officer, (Deputy Commissioner) Samba, Rohit Khajuria, today convened a meeting of district officers and election officials to finalise the arrangements for the smooth conduct of District Development Council elections and Bye elections (Panchayats) here at mini conference hal.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Suram Chand Sharma; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Jitender Mishra; Dy. Election Officer, Rajeev Magotra; Assistant Commissioner Development Sidharath Dhiman, besides other district officers, and block development officers.

The meeting was informed that Vimal Muni College of Education Bara, Vijaypur has been notified as centre for counting votes, housing ballot boxes, and other election related material (strong room) in respect of district Samba.

The Deputy Commissioner directed block development officers to work in close coordination with election cell and adhere to all government directions issued from time to time.

The DC informed that the notification for all the phases has been issued and with polling dates approaching fast, no room for mistakes be left. He also laid emphasis upon appraising daily progress achieved in finalising the arrangements for enabling the conduct of elections in a free, fair and transparent manner.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner and other senior officers visited the designated counting centre at Vijaypur and directed concerned for immediately placing proper lighting, table, chairs and deployment of security personnel besides cleanliness of the premises.
