2nd National Lok Adalat-2022 held at Kathua

KATHUA, MAY 14: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kathua organised 2nd National Lok Adalat at ADR Centre of District Court Complex, here today.

The proceedings of the Lok Adalat was inaugurated by Chairman DLSA, Jaffer Hussain Beg

At the outest, DLSA in collaboration with District Social Welfare Dept distributed wheel chairs among the beneficiaries.

During the day long National Lok Adalat, Five benches were constituted at District Court Complex Kathua and four benches were constituted in Tehsil Courts at Basohli, Billawar, Hiranagar & Bani respectively.

Bench No. 1 comprised of Jaffer Hussain Beg, Chairman District Legal Services Authority Kathua (Pr. District and Sessions Judge Kathua) & Spl. Mobile Magistrate Kathua Anjana Rajput, Bench No. 2 comprised of Chief Judicial Magistrate Kathua Sandeep Kour, & JMIC Kathua, Cheena Sumbria, Bench No. 3 comprised of District Mobile Magistrate, Brij Raj Singh, & ARTO Neeraj Kumar Sharma, Bench No. 4 comprised of District Social Welfare Officer Abdul Raheem & Tehsildar Vikram Kumar. Bench No. 5 comprised of Tehsildar Vikram Kumar & Assistant Director Fisheries Pawan Kumar.

The Basohli bench comprised of JMIC Basohli Jeevan Kumar Sharma, & Bar President Basohli Shub Kumar.

At Billawar, the bench comprised of Additional Spl. Mobile Magistrate Rohit Sharma & JMIC Shabnam Sheikh.

The Bench at Hiranagar consisted of JMIC Rajni Bhagat & Bar President Hiranagar Thakur Ranjit Singh.

The Bani bench comprised of JMIC, Ahtzaz Ahmed, Tehsildar Suresh Kumar and S.H.O Shahnawaz.

A total of 1598 cases were taken up in the National Lok Adalat by the constituted benches, out of which 1288 cases were disposed of/settled. Meanwhile, 4585 Misc. cases received from different departments were also settled in the National Lok Adalat.

The Compensation worth Rs 6025000/- was awarded in the MACT cases, an amount of Rs. 1000000/- was recovered from labour disputes, a recovered of Rs. 10,400 was realised from electricity bills, an amount of Rs. 149391 was realised from Water bills, a fine of Rs. 20650/- was realised on spot from Criminal Compound cases, a Recovery of Rs. 2934746/- was also made in favour of the Banks and a fine of Rs. 1144400/- was realized.

A total amount of Rs.11285187/- was realised on the spot.
