DDC chairperson Poonch reviews execution of PWD works

POONCH, JUNE 18: Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Poonch Tazeem Akhter today took a detailed review of works proposed under the PWD sector.

She was apprised about the completed, ongoing and tendered works.

The XEN PWD informed that against 58 works proposed under DDC Grants, 57 have been accorded administrative approval, 46 have been tendered and 12 works have been allotted.

About BDC works, he informed that all 28 works have been accorded administrative approval out of which 25 have been tendered. “Against 24 works proposed under PRI grants, 21 have been accorded administrative approval and stand tendered, while execution of 2 is on. Further, the work on 36 projects proposed under regular District Capex has been taken up,” the meeting was told.

The DDC chairperson instructed PWD and other executive agencies to complete the pending tendering process within a week's time and start the execution well in time without compromising the quality aspect.

Besides, the DDC Chairperson congratulated District Administration for bagging second rank at UT level with regard to achievements under Developmental Deliverables. The border district has secured 76.60 points i.e, achieved 76.60% of the targets set under various deliverables for all departments.

She specifically appreciated the performance of district administration in RDD, Education, Urban Development, Revenue and Social Welfare sectors.

It is pertinent to mention that in sector wise performance reports, the district figured in the top 5 in various key developmental departments. For instance, Poonch stood as number one( 1) in achieving deliverables of rural development and Panchayati Raj departments, secured second rank (2) in school education department, Third rank(3) in Housing and urban development department, 4th rank in achievements of Revenue department and 5th rank in Social welfare department.

She also appreciated the efforts of the District Administration and the achievements made in the FY 2021-22, like ensuring 90% expenditure against the authorization under District Capex, completion of 1734 works against commitment of 1724 works, expenditure of Rs: 14.00 cr. under TSP, Sanctioning of 26321 new pension cases, Disbursement of an amount of Rs. 4364.10 lakh under various self employment schemes and disbursement of an amount of Rs. 600.60 lakh to 16756 beneficiaries by labour department.
