DE&CC Samba organises Job fair cum awareness camp

58 applicants shortlisted by 07 private companies

SAMBA, SEPTEMBER 17: A Job Fair cum awareness camp was today organized at District Employment & Counseling Centre Samba to bridge the gap between the job seekers and job providers.

As many as 7 private companies namely Dewan Beverages, Uflex, RVS iGlobal, SBI Life, Hindustan Food Limited, LIC of India and Cadilla participated in the Job Fair.

Assistant Director DE&CC, Sulakshna Thakur informed that a total 143 candidates registered in the job fair out of which 58 candidates were shortlisted by the participating companies. "Beside job interview, the candidates were also counseled about different self employment schemes like Seed Capital, Youth Start up, Mumkin, Tejeswini, Spurring entrepreneurship, PMEGP and other government sponsored schemes and motivated to start their own self employment unit and become job provider instead of job seekers" added the AD.

Assistant Director informed that candidates were also given information about the National Career Service Portal which has more than one lakh active job providers. The NCs portal offers services like job fair, career counseling, training, and local service providers for the registered candidate. On the spot registration of the unemployed youth was made on the J&K state employment portal at http://jakemp.nic.in which is now integrated with the National Career service portal.
