DEO Ramban sensitises youth about SSR -2022 at Gool

Reviews progress on registration process

RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 22: District Administration, Ramban has intensified the awareness drive under SVEEP to educate the students, youth and general public regarding the voter enrollment process amid the ongoing Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls .

In continuation of the drive, District Election Officer, Mussarat Islam today presided over a grand programme organized at Government Model Higher Secondary School, Gool by the District Election Department in coordination with Education Department to sensitize the people in general and young eligible voters in particular about Special Summary Revision

Deputy District Election Officer, Lal Chand; Chief Education Officer, Dev Anand; Principal GDC, Gool, Prof. Shah Jahan Ganai; Tehsildar, Rafiq Ahmed; Superintendent ITI, Parvez Iqbal; Principal of Host School, Mohammad Rafi Beig, PRIs, district officers, faculty members and students attended the function.

The DEO appreciated the Election and Education Departments for organizing the informative cultural bonanza under SVEEP to sensitize the students, especially prospective voters, to enroll themselves as voters during Special Summary Revision 2022. He further asked the PRIs, prominent citizens and members of civil society to play a proactive role in facilitating the registration of eligible voters in their respective areas.

Highlighting the process for registration of eligible voters, the DC directed the BLOs and concerned officers to focus on the registration of each and every eligible voter in the areas of their respective Polling Stations.

The Chief Education Officer and other speakers including students of the GDC, ITI, and GMHSS, Gool took part in a debate competition and highlighted the importance of SSR, 2022 and motivated them to act as representative of the Department to sensitize each and every eligible voter to register themselves on Electoral Roll.

Meanwhile, Dy. DEO administered a pledge to the participants regarding the registration of cent-percent newly eligible voters during the Special Summary Revision.

Terming students as the ambassadors, the Dy. DEO said that they are playing a significant role in achieving hundred percent registration of the prospective voters.

The Dy. DEO informed that during the Special Summary Revision, special camps would be organized on September 24 & 25 and October 1, 2, 15 & 16. He said that information regarding documents required for registration as a voter has also been displayed on the hoardings and banners installed at prominent places in the district. He also briefed about the introduction and use of new forms including forms no. 6, 6b, 7, and 8 during the Special Summary Revision.
